About

A Melbourne-based filmmaker with a focus on multicultural stories.

Since I found out that my mother was an actor in China, I knew I wanted to work in movie making.

When I was 14, I put together a crude Bohemian Rhapsody music video using a Half Life 2 mod and presented it to my entire school at assembly. It starred, “male_07” and was horribly embarrassing. Well would you look at me now; these days I use film cameras instead of screen capturing ‘Garry’s Mod’.

I’ve spent 6 years and countless nights staring at blank Writer Duet pages and going back and forth on which one of two frames cuts better in Premiere Pro. In that time, I also complete a Bachelor of Film and Television (Honours) at Swinburne University of Technology and a Master of Film and Television at the Victorian College of the Arts.

I’ve had roles as a writer, director, assistant director, editor, and producer (among others) through short narrative films, documentaries, music videos and feature films. These roles have afforded me the experience of following a story and adapting the narrative – from preproduction through to post – while maintaining a flexibility that is essential to the creative process. As a storyteller, I frequently explore diversity, fringe societies and familial connections. Having a film represent the diversity of our society both on screen and on set, is incredibly important to me.

If there’s one thing, I have learned in all my experiences, it is the importance of collaboration. So if you are looking for a Writer, Director, Assistant Director, or Editor to collaborate with, please reach out to see if your project and I would be a good fit.
